Watson: You don’t have a girlfriend, then?
Sherlock: Girlfriend? No, not really my area.
Watson: Alright, do you have a boyfriend? Which is fine, by the way.
Sherlock: I know it’s fine.
Watson: So you’ve got a boyfriend?
Sherlock: No.
Watson: Fine, ok. You’re unattached, just like me. Fine, good.
Sherlock: John, um, I think you should know that I consider myself married to my work and while I’m flattered by your interest, I’m really not looking for anything.
Watson: No, no, no, I’m not asking, no, I’m just saying, it’s all fine.
ffft this scene was so awkward and beautiful
The Important Bit
Just where exactly is the line between “to love” and “to be in love”? What difference is required between “flatmate” and “husband”? (Besides the rings, obviously.) The important bit is that they have each other.
This is my in-progress platonically married S/J fic. If you would like to read itbecause heaven knows I never link you to my fanfiction account so it’s not like you could find it by yourself if you had any interest. I am told the dialogue is worth reading for, although plot? Is a little light. Just kind of a series of scenes from their life.
High likelihood of bees by the end, though.
heeheeeheeeh. The dialogue is great.

#There are 3 things I really love about this #1) How miffed John looks #2) That John covers the whole of Sherlock’s hand with his own #and 3) That Sherlock lets his fingers drag a wee bit across John’s chest #I WILL FIND THE HOMOEROTIC SUBTEXT IF IT KILLS ME
Dude, you don’t even have to look to find the homoerotic subtext. It’s always there. All the time.

That, uh, thing that you, uh, that you did…that um, you offered to do was…good.
HE LOOKS SO AROUSED OH MY GOD
Nnnnng
Why didn’t I notice this? Oh my God, he’s so hot.
